Ireland arrange Barbarians match
|
Ireland will warm up for their summer tour of New Zealand and Australia by playing the Barbarians at Gloucester's Kingsholm ground on Tuesday, 27 May.
Brian O'Driscoll's Ireland will face the Barbarians at Kingsholm
The game is part of a three-match tour which also sees the Baa-baas tackling Belgium in Brussels three days earlier and England at Twickenham on 1 June.
Lansdowne Road and Thomond Park in Limerick were unavailable for the Ireland game because of building work.
The Barbarians have played Ireland twice before - in 1996 and 2000.
"This is a new departure for us, but a very interesting one," said Barbarians president Micky Steele-Bodger.
"Ireland were keen to add a fixture in Europe to their own summer tour before travelling on to New Zealand and Australia.
"We are playing at one of the traditional hotbeds of rugby union in the west of England.
"Kingsholm was an obvious choice, and one that we are sure will prove to be a great success for both players and fans."
